We’ve set up the club a little differently to most. Sussex Merlins is owned by and run on behalf of its members. That means that everyone who is a member gets a say in how the club is run and what long term goals we set. It’s really easy to become a member, so if you want to help shape the future of Rugby League and Netball in Sussex then it couldn’t be simpler. Contact us for more info on becoming a member and supporter of Sussex Merlins.
We play at our rugby League at The Recreation Ground, Shirley Drive, Hove, BN3 6QP, click the map on the right to link to Google Maps for directions.
We are currently forming the Netball team and looking for an indoor training facility.
How to find us by either by car or train. The nearest station is Hove and is less than a five-minute walk over the footbridge to our clubhouse. You can travel directly to Hove via London and Southampton. Visit www.nationalrail.co.uk for train times.
If you are driving:
Travelling South on the A23 towards Brighton, pass through the Brighton Pillars on the outskirts of town. Stay on the A23 for a further half mile and stay in left hand lane approaching the roundabout and follow the road around to the left, following directions to Worthing, A27. Stay in left hand lane and turn left at the next roundabout onto the A27 and remain in the left hand lane. You will go up a steep hill. Take the left hand slip road signposted Hove (A2038). At the roundabout take the second exit, sign posted Brighton and County Cricket Ground. Take the first right down Woodland Drive, at the shops on the left turn left onto Shirley Drive. The club is approximately 1 mile on the right, just before the crossroads. There is some parking on the roadside.
